About

Gavin Roberts grew up in North Lincolnshire, Australia and Cambridgeshire. Early experience in local press journalism led to undergraduate study at Nottingham Trent University and FAMU Academy in Prague.

On graduating in 1997 Gavin moved into editorial photography, travelling extensively throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. Since 2004 Gavin has been based in Bristol and undertakes assignments throughout the south-west and the rest of the UK & Europe.

In March 2017 Gavin exhibited his photographs of Bristol pubs in a show called 'Closing Time' at Hamilton House, Stokes Croft, Bristol.

Gavin is presently working for a wide variety of clients in the press/PR, editorial, advertising and fashion fields and is also pursuing local documentary projects. Between 2015 and 2021 Gavin worked for Next Ltd photographing men's, women's, children's wear and home products at their Leicester head office.

For the last 4 years Gavin has been photographing post war architecture across the U.K. and in the Czech Republic, the ‘Architektura’ section is currently work in progress.

In 2022 Gavin was shortlisted in the Architecture section of the British Photography Awards for his study of the Bradwell Nuclear Power Station.
